Memory requirement is not related to CPU cores. For the OIFS project, each WU uses about 26GB and defaults to 4 CPU threads. If you change the thread count through the app_config.xml file, up to a maximum of 8 threads, the memory requirement will still be 26GB.
The WRF project uses 6GB and a default of 4 CPU threads. Once again, you can use up to 8 CPU threads by changing/using the app_config.xml file. The memory requirement stays a 6GB.
Like other CPDN projects, WRF will be using the trickle capability to send data back to the server periodically. It should be noted that the amount of data sent is not trivial for those who might be on slow internet or metered internet connections. It will probably be in the 10s of MBs each trickle. Supposedly Glenn is still working on optimizing the compression the output files.

Technical requirements
- multicore, default 4 threads.
- max memory 6Gb
- runtime: ~ 10 real days running 24/7 on a modern cpu at 4 cores.
Data
- Download. A 2Gb data file has to be downloaded for each workunit.
- Uploads. Total of 15 uploads, each upload approx 260Mb.
Notes:
- Because of the long runtimes, you must opt-in for these tasks by enabling 'run WRF' in your project preferences.
- Only 1 workunit per host at present. This will change for the forthcoming larger batches.
