Oggi a berkeley si sta tenendo un seminario su seti@home in occasione dei 10 anni del progetto, dove interverranno i ricercatori che lo hanno ideato e ci hanno lavorato in questi anni che illustreranno la storia del progetto, la sua evoluzione e i futuri sviluppi. Potete vedere in diretta il video sul nostro portale, con tanto di scaletta degli interventi.

Io solitamente elaboro AstroPulse con un'applicazione ottimizzata è funzionava perfettamente. Spero non sia un mio problema, ma del server Seti, che presto o tardi si risolva.

Non ci sono disponibili wu astropulse in questo momento.

Mi è giunta una email da Seti@Home in cui mi si chiede di riconnetermi al loro progetto (io non mi sono mai cancellato, elaboro WU Astropulse normalmente). Non penso di dover clikkare sui loro link, ma per sicurezza vi copio il testo del loro msg. Ai più esperti, dirimere la matassa.....

probabilmente hanno fatto un errore

E' da un paio di giorni che il mio client non riesce a fare l'upload delle WU completate, mi esce questo messaggio:

Questo per una 50ina di WU. Ovviamente non mi scarica le nuove fino a che non riporto queste. I server di seti hanno problemi o dipende da me?

Crunchers-Please be aware there is currently a server issue with people Receiving Sporadic or New Work as well as Uploading completed WU's. The Admins are aware of this issue and are working to resolve this as quickly as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience.

stanno risolvendo un problema ai server

si succede anche a me, sono riuscito a riportare solo 3 wu, ne ho ancora 14 da uploadare e riportare!

Tutto ritornato alla normalità!

Sembra esservi un problema di comunicazione fra le ultime versioni del Boinc e le preferenze del Seti.
Anche non abilitando la ricezione di WU per cuda comunque il Boinc le richiede e le ottiene.
In effetti, se ci avete fato caso, il boinc adesso richiede lavoro differenziato per la cpu e/o per la gpu.

Per adesso ho risolto momentaneamente modificando il file "app_info" togliendo l'intera sezione riguardo a cuda.
Adesso devo controllare se a questo punto evita di chiedere lavoro per la gpu oppure continua ad ottenerlo e vanno in errore appena ricevute.

Io ero all'oscuro dell'elaborazione di seti tramite CUDA, o è una ignoranza mia o non capisco quest'articolo:

Canapa, tu che sembri intendertene di SETI e mi sembri anche interessato, riusciresti ad aggiornare l'articolo su SETI e aggiungere la parte relativa alle GPU?
